Winter Sports History Night

WinterSports enthusiasts of all ages and interests will converge on the Bear Valley Lodge on December 8th, 2007 to celebrate the fourth annual WinterSports History Night. It has become a must attend event where one can be entertained and informed on the rich and illuminating historical facts and faces that embodied the Ebbetts Pass corridor. From Angels Camp on the western slope of the Sierra to Markleeville on the eastern side, Highway 4/Ebbetts Pass has played an intergal role in the history of California. The event is free to the public and starts at 7 pm.

Each year in December, the Ebbetts Pass Historical Association plays host to the event where a variety of presentations and awards take place honoring key topics and individuals who have contributed to the development and enhancement of the wintersports along the corridor. The most coveted award each year is the Peter Brinkman Award given to an individual or group that has contributed significantly to the development and enhancement of wintersports. This year’s recipient is Maury Rasmussen.

Sugar Bowl!

SOTC is hosting an apres' Learn to Ski Party at Squaw Valley!
Check below for details!

*Mike Pechner SnowCast!
Snow flurries expected over the weekend which could deliver a few
inches and should bring cold temperatures making 24 hour a day
snowmaking possible.  For early next week, a front appears to be
moving into the High Sierra on Tuesday, but snowfall at this time
appears minimal.  Bottom line, looks like snowmaking, cold temperatures
and some natural snow will slowly open more terrain and most resorts.
