Sliding on the Cheap! Big Powder Inbound, $25 Northstar Tixs, $369 Heavenly Pass, Elvis Day@ Mt. Rose, More!

Hello Sliders!

The holidays end just in time for a series
of winter storms that WILL dump heavy snow on
your favorite resort this weekend.
Should you come skiing and riding you ask?
That depends upon lodging, and just how much time
you've got off.  It's a good bet that road travel will be
dicey beginning this evening and once these
big storms hit, it's likely that highways will be subject
to closure.  Lodging is important, because it's entirely
possible you'll need to stay beyond the weekend
(We've listed a couple of our favorite lodging options below)

Will there be deals served with all this fresh snow?
Yes, dear sliders, deals aplenty!
But don't fret!  If you should decide to ride out the storms
at home and wait until next week, most post-holiday deals are
valid through the 18th of January!

For our new readers, the week after Christmas happens to offer the
best lift ticket and lodging deals of the season.  Why you ask?
Because of the natural lull, post holiday.  What does that mean
dear slider?  We are slammed and jammed with great lift ticket and
lodging deals Are you a college student, active military?  We've
got deals for you too.  Purchase a pair of Vertical sunglasses
or goggles, you get a Northstar/Sierra Voucher allowing you
to purchase a $51 lift ticket...valid until January 18th!
(meaning you're riding the best powder in years, for a song)

*Mike Pechner's SnowCast
Well the groomers are like a great chef
sharpening his knife in the anticipation of Mothers Natures BIG DUMP
beginning late tonight.  Conservative put the potential new snowfall by
Monday morning to around 4 feet at Lake Level, 6 feet at 7000 feet and
8 feet at 8000 ft.
Some forecast models show upwards of ten feet. Anyway you cut it, there
will be more the enough to go around and with the strong winds,
Blizzard conditions are a near certainty
Friday morning thru Saturday afternoon. Snowfall rates could be 3 to 5"
an hour at times. So call ahead to your resort and check Caltrans at
1-800 427 ROAD before going up to the Sierra.
