Snow Report for SAT. - Jan 17, 2009

TODAY ON THE MOUNTAIN

Lots of sunshine with winds out of the EAST NORTH EAST between 10-15mph and possible gusts to 25mph.

A few tips on some great places to ski at Bear Valley right now. The Grizz bowl is still holding some good conditions........Right side of Renegade and Upper Tortilla have good snow conditions as well as Haleakala, which has some great spring like snow after 11am. And if you poke around the west ridge you're sure to find some goods there too. The grooming has been great so give the Cat Crew some Kudos. If you need to, ask a patroler and they'll give you a heads up on where it's good.

MLK weekend Jan 17th-Jan19th - snow, sunshine and of course "WINTER EXPLOSION" Celebration on Saturday the 17th.  We'll have fireworks with live music and games for the kids, so bring the family and have a great time with us.

Bear Valley Cross-Country center is open with 31 trails for a total of 46 kilometers available, 26 trails with groomed track and skating lanes and 4 snowshoe only trails. The Meadow Cafe and  Sledding Hill are open for business daily.

Snow Report for FRI. - Jan 16, 2009

TODAY ON THE MOUNTAIN

Lots of sunshine with winds out of the EAST NORTH EAST between 10-15mph and possible gusts to 25mph. The Wicked Ridge of the West High pressure system has been in effect since last thursday, so look for that system to continue to bring us a bounty of sunshine days and warmer temps up to the mid 50's.

A few tips on some great places to ski at Bear Valley right now. The Grizz bowl is still holding some good conditions........Right side of Renegade and Upper Tortilla have good snow conditions as well as Haleakala, which has some great spring like snow after 11am. And if you poke around the west ridge you're sure to find some goods there too. The grooming has been great so give the Cat Crew some Kudos. If you need to, ask a patroler and they'll give you a heads up on where it's good.The New Year Is here and the skiing is great on a 35" average base. Come on up and schralp some lines with us!

So bring the family and have a great time with us. Don't forget your sunscreen!! Bear Valley Ski Patrol

Calling all intermediate and advanced skiers to enter the Torchlight Parade!. The torchlight parade is presented courtesy of 100 of our guests and staff members riding and gliding down the slopes, torch in hand. Skiers and riders of all ages are invited to join the fun. National Safety Awareness Week
Safety Awareness WeekNational Safety Awareness Week (January 17th - 24th) features week long activities on snow safety. Bear Valley Ski Patrol is currently offering Avalanche Beacon training, and will culminate in a beacon finding contest on Sat. January 24th. Our mountain operations are hard at work building sculptures highlighting the Skier's Responsibility Code and you'll get to vote for your favorite scene! Stop by our Patrol booth located at the day lodge from 11a-4p on Saturday (Jan. 24th) to cast your vote. On Saturday you will also have the opportunity to win some sweet BV swag by joining the fun with our Scavenger Hunt. Just swing by the Patrol booth for details!!

The Grizz bowl is still holding some good conditions........Right side of Renegade and Upper Tortilla have good snow conditions as well as Haleakala, which has some great spring like snow after 11am.
