Snow Report for Thur. - Jan 15, 2009

SNOW REPORT HEADER
Thur. January 15, 2009 6:20am
TODAY ON THE MOUNTAIN

Lots of sunshine with winds out of the EAST NORTH EAST between 9-11mph and possible gusts to 25mph. The Wicked Ridge of the West High pressure system has been in effect since thursday, so look for that system to continue to bring us a bounty of sunshine days and warmer temps up to the mid 50's. A few tips on some great places to ski at Bear Valley right now. The Grizz bowl is still holding some good conditions........Right side of Renegade and Upper Tortilla have good snow conditions as well as Haleakala, which has some great spring like snow after 11am. And if you poke around the west ridge you're sure to find some goods there too. The grooming has been great so give the Cat Crew some Kudos and don't forget to check out Tiggers as they put some fun groomed skiing there in the past few nights. If you need to, ask a patroler and they'll give you a heads up on where it's good. The New Year Is here and the skiing is great on a 35" average base. Come on up and schralp some lines with us! Don't forget your sunscreen!! Bear Valley Ski Patrol

MLK weekend Jan 17th-Jan19th - enjoy three days of snow, sunshine and of course "WINTER EXPLOSION" Celebration on Saturday the 17th.  We'll have fireworks with live music and games for the kids, so bring the family and have a great time with us.

Bear Valley Cross-Country center is open with 30 trails for a total of 46 kilometers available, 26 trails with groomed track and skating lanes and 4 snowshoe only trails. The Meadow Cafe and  Sledding Hill are open for business daily.

Please read this notice (below) from the CHP. Drive safely - you MUST carry snow chains for your vehicle at all times.
