FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 1, 2008

CHP San Andreas Area to assist Caltrans at
Chain Controls on SR-4.

The California Highway Patrol San Andreas Area will assist Caltrans at Chain Controls on SR-4 this Superbowl Weekend.

“The CHP would like to remind everyone Chains are required to be carried in ALL vehicles in Chain Control Areas and the maximum speed in Chain Control Areas is 25 MPH.” Officer Jaime Castillo stated. “Chain Controls will be vigorously enforced. Last weekend the San Andreas Area assisted in Chain Controls and as a result, there were no reports of “spinouts” in the Chain Control Areas. Tire Traction Devices do work; the law is there for a reason.”

There is another cold winter storm coming in this weekend to the Mother Lode and the location of Chain Controls and times will be based on current weather and roadway conditions.

If you are keeping count, and WE are,  snow beginning this
afternoon will be the 17th  day of snowfall this month in the High
Sierra.  February will start off with more snow but it now looks like
the weekend storm will be the last for a while with sunny skies and
epic conditions greeting boarders and skiers all of next week.  The
next opportunity for more snow is the following weekend.  Resorts
picked up anywhere from 12 to 24" in the last storm with an additional
1o to 20" possible tonight and Friday. The National Weather Service HAS
ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING for the SIERRA for the incoming storm. 
Snow should end just in time for the trip up to the mountains tomorrow
night. Snow returns late Saturday through Sunday with additional 1 to 2
feet of new freshies.

Ultimate Ski Adventure - Take Your Skiing & Riding To The Next Level!
Sugar Bowls Mountain Sports Learning Center (MSLC) would like to
invite all snow riders from intermediate cruisers to Expert Extreme
to come on the Ultimate Ski Adventure (USA).  For twelve Saturdays,
come explore Sugar Bowls three peaks for three hours, guided by
members of the MSLC coaching staff.  Along the way of this ski
adventure, you will get valuable tips to improver your skiing.  The
tradition of USA has formed many new friendships over the seasons
and support for improvements in ones riding.  Above all, it is a
wonderful and fun way to ski at Sugar Bowl.

The Ultimate Ski Adventure Starts December 29 2007 and concludes
March 22 2008.  USA is for Intermediate to Advance Snow Riders.
The Adventure is a $450.00 option on your 2007/ 2008 season pass
for all twelve weeks.  If it is a problem to make all the weeks,
season pass holders may take part in the fun $50.00 Per Day.  Please
