| The following press release was provided to Bear Valley Mountain Resort by the San Andreas CHP office. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 1, 2008 CHP San Andreas Area to assist Caltrans at Chain Controls on SR-4. The California Highway Patrol San Andreas Area will assist Caltrans at Chain Controls on SR-4 this Superbowl Weekend. “The CHP would like to remind everyone Chains are required to be carried in ALL vehicles in Chain Control Areas and the maximum speed in Chain Control Areas is 25 MPH.” Officer Jaime Castillo stated. “Chain Controls will be vigorously enforced. Last weekend the San Andreas Area assisted in Chain Controls and as a result, there were no reports of “spinouts” in the Chain Control Areas. Tire Traction Devices do work; the law is there for a reason.” There is another cold winter storm coming in this weekend to the Mother Lode and the location of Chain Controls and times will be based on current weather and roadway conditions.
