Hello Sliders!
Everyone, (including our crew) wait impatiently for that first storm
that will get most, if not all the resorts open. For now, Boreal
has the only game in town and if you need a Northern California
sliding fix, they have it cheap at just $22.00! Check rideboreal.com
for the details.
What do we do, dear sliders? We call the king of High Sierra
Weather, Mike Pechner, and get the latest update! Looks like snow
inbound on Thursday, (Thanksgiving) with enough snow to get the
higher elevation resorts open. The longer range forecast is looking
pretty good for early next week, with snow in the forecast for
Monday and Tuesday.
Those resorts on a hair trigger, waiting to open include: Heavenly
and Sierra on the Southshore, Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Squaw
Valley and Sugar Bowl, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe on the Northshore. Also
ready to open with colder conditions is Kirkwood and the East Bay
connection: Bear Valley.
Who will have the best skiing and riding, you ask? Generally, it'll
be those resorts with the highest elevations and smooth slopes.
Don't just go for terrain, sliders. Check and see who is offering
a great opening price, since terrain will be limited at all resorts.
What's in the newsletter this week? Gift certificates, a great way
to give sliding over the holidays. Don't forget corporate tickets
for the best group deals on the planet. Boreal is open at $22,
Sugar Bowl will open at $25. Film Festivals at both Kirkwood and
Squaw Valley. Swag for our most (excellent) readership!!
