*Mike Pechner's SnowCast!
January in usually one of the biggest months in the Sierra for
boarding and skiing but with 17 days of snow and a number of weekend
road closures some folks could not enjoy the fantastic conditions in
the mountains.  With lots of sunshine expected up to Presidents
weekend, there is lots of time to get up to the resorts with no driving
problems.   Daytime highs through the weekend will get up to near 40
with overnight lows in the teens.  The usual winter inversions will
result in colder mornings on the lower runs and warmer afternoons on
the upper runs. Packed and packed powder is being reported at ski and
boarding areas with 8 to 13 feet of snow on the slopes.
Mike Pechner!
