*Mike Pechner's SnowCast!
Boarders and skiers are attracted to at least two things in the
Sierra: a decent pack and new freshies.  After more than a week of
dry weather it appears a change in the dry pattern could happen as
early as Monday of next week.  The latest computer forecast models
bring a cold storm from Alaska with light dry powder to the resorts
on Monday.  With an excellent base, dry powder on top is heaven for
riders and skiers.  Until then, sunny skies thru Saturday with
colder temperatures and gusty winds over the ridges.  Highs will
be in the low 30's with lows 5 to 15.  Clouds will increase Sunday
with snow likely Monday.  Look for packed powder conditions to
continue until then.

Still a few snow showers  today left from THE LAST weather system for
the next week and a half as Mother Natures SNOW machine takes a well
deserved rest.  Some SPRING like weather is expected next week as
daytime temperatures soar into the 40's with overnight lows in the
teens.  Inversions on the ridges will make it warmer at night at the
8000 ft. level but cooler by day. Snow depths range from 5 feet on
lower runs to 13 feet at 8500 ft. Thats two to three times the depth
last year at this time. So if you like superb conditions, sunny skies
and dry roads, now is your time to head to the Mountains!

Sliding on the Cheap! Big Powder Inbound, $25 Northstar Tixs, $369 Heavenly Pass, Elvis Day@ Mt. Rose, More!

Hello Sliders!

The holidays end just in time for a series
of winter storms that WILL dump heavy snow on
your favorite resort this weekend.
Should you come skiing and riding you ask?
That depends upon lodging, and just how much time
you've got off.  It's a good bet that road travel will be
dicey beginning this evening and once these
big storms hit, it's likely that highways will be subject
