Hello Sliders!

Our first regular newsletter of the season!  Can winter be that close?

45 days!  Yes indeed, dear sliders, winter is right around the corner and
with money tight, SOTC will be more valuable than ever. We've got the latest
inside skinny on season pass deals expiring Tuesday, SEPTEMBER 30th

(pass along this little gem to your skiing and riding friends and family!)

*The Skinny
September 30 is traditionally the drop dead date for super-low season pass
prices, and this year is no exception, thus the RARE Monday SOTC Email.
Resorts like Northstar, Sierra, Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose have pass
deals that expire, Tuesday, September, 30th, so we want to make sure
our hoard of slobbering cheap ski and snowboard enthusiasts
have a chance to take advantage of the best deals...courtesy of
your (local) SOTC crew.  Why a season pass?  Modern season
passes are real value.  If you're planning to ski or ride five or more
days this winter, it's a good bet, the pass will pay for itself.

where we have a complete list of Tent Sales
for the coming weekend! )

*Super Season Pass Deal For Heavenly Sliders at Tent Sale!

If you purchase or renew your 2008-09 Heavenly Season Pass
at the tent sale for the low price of $369 ($130 off
the retail price), Heavenly will sweeten the deal by throwing
in a coupon that gets you $25 off gear purchases of $250
or more during the tent sale!

If you're not coming to Lake Tahoe over Labor Day, don't fret,
Bay Area AnyMountain stores will be offering the same deal!

So what does $369 get you?
Seven-day-a-week sliding at Lake Tahoe’s top resort as
ranked by SKI and Skiing Magazine readers (nine blackout dates apply)
Lake Tahoe's largest resort (4,800 slide-able acres)
Lake Tahoe's longest vertical drop (3,500 feet)
The highest summit of any Lake Tahoe resort (10,067 feet -
the higher you go, the better the snow!)

Consistent and reliable snow surfaces,
provided by the West Coast's largest snowmaking system
and the country's largest fleet of Prinoth 350 grooming machines
Unparalleled views of Lake Tahoe
Incredible tree-skiing!  (so true...)
Discounts on the only ZipRider cable ride in the Lake Tahoe basin
Then you throw in these benefits:
Unlimited half-price tickets (no blackouts) at Vail Resorts'
other premier resorts, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and
Keystone in Colorado.

*Heavenly Improvements! (Can they make it any better?)
Check out these resort improvements for 2008/09:
Three new trails! Two new runs in Skiways Glades, and one new
run in Powderbowl Woods. These runs continue the new trend
Heavenly started last year in the Olympic Express area:
Heavenly is glading the trails, leaving tree islands far
enough apart to groom the run with a snow cat.

New Skyline Trail! Skyline is the famous traverse from
California to Nevada. Heavenly is widening it and re-grading it,
allowing snowboarders and beginning skiers to make the
traverse without poling or unstrapping.

*Doubling the indoor seating at East Peak Lodge!
Heavenly is adding roughly 100 indoor seats to East Peak Lodge
by enclosing the upper deck, providing a warm place to eat when
we're not experiencing one of our typical bluebird California days.

*The West Coast’s largest snowmaking system is expanding!
Onto Stagecoach run, allowing the Stagecoach base on the
Nevada side of the mountain to open earlier in the season
with more consistent conditions.
(and we do love to park on the Nevada side...)

*A new magic carpet in the California ski school area!
Making learning to ski or ride that much easier.

*Expanding and remodeling the California Lodge rental shop!
To aid speed and efficiency and get guests out on the mountain faster.

*Six new snow cats!
Five regular Prinoths and one
Prinoth Bison winch cat. All are equipped with category 3,
carbon-certified, low-emission engines.

Heavenly season passes will offer "easy scan" RF technology
that will expedite access to the lifts.

Heavenly is ranked among OnTheSnow.com’s top ten “no-car needed”
resorts and therefore an outstanding choice for those who
wish to conserve gas and support the environmental movement.

A $369 Heavenly Pass is literally one of the BEST DEAL ON SNOW
for this winter. Visit the Heavenly Tent Sale or any Bay Area
AnyMountain store Labor Day Weekend, call 1-800-HEAVENLY, or
visit www.heavenlypass.com to unlock the savings and
enjoy what is sure to be an epic winter!

If you see your email address below, you've won a free ticket to Heavenly!
Send an email within 7 days to kwtinto@aol.com to claim your ticket.

We hope you find some great gear deals at this year's Labor Day Tent Sales!
