Sliding on the Cheap! Powder Alert! President's Weekend Deals, Discounts, Events, Free Tickets, More!

Hello Sliders!

Yes, skiers and riders, it's here. The President's three-day
weekend, also known as the biggest ski weekend of the season.
Our esteemed meteorologist, Mike Pechner,
says that Tahoe skiers/riders can expect the best powder
skiing in years this weekend, with super-light snow.

But you need a deal...

That's where Sliding on the Cheap comes to the rescue! There are
plenty of ways to save on lift tickets, lodging if you know where to
look and in some cases, make an effort to purchase
tickets before leaving for your favorite resort.
(check our $99.00 Cal Neva Deal...)

*Our Wonderful Sponsor!
Apres-ski in the Village at Squaw -- free entertainment in the
Village every weekend throughout February. This week check out
The Keith Show with juggling, comedy and more from 12-4 p.m.
February 18th-20th and Jeff Jones from 2-4 p.m. on February 25th.
Food & drink happy hour specials in the Village every day!

*North Lake Tahoe--Interchangeable Ticket!
You've been asking for a package with Interchangeable ticket--
here it is!
Enjoy pure savings with the $90* ski package!
Plenty of room for the family or 2 couples with a two-bedroom
condo package including a two-day Ski Tahoe North
Interchangeable Lift Ticket to seven resorts.
Call 888-434-1262 or go to
www. PureTahoeNorth.com/slide.
*Per person, per night. Some restrictions apply.

*What have we got this week?
How to get the best lift ticket and lodging deals for the upcoming
holiday weekend. We've got a limited number of $99.00 rooms valid
over the holiday at Cal Neva! First Come!
http://www.slidingonthecheap.com

*Mike Pechner's Weather Forecast
Up to five inches of fresh snow dropped Wednesday,
more on the way for Thursday night, Friday and Sunday afternoon.
Alert Sliders! This will be the best light-powder skiing/riding
weekend of the year. 1-2 feet of fresh over the weekend,
cold temperatures, dress warm: Highs 20's lows in single digits.

*Just Plain Old Common Sense?
No, we're not talking about tossing out that one-piece neon ski
suit with the glitter moose on the back you wore to Club Med, Copper
Mountain, back-in-the-day.
(Hint! Lose the one-piece ski bags dear sliders, unless you
want to be the object of unchecked snickering/ridicule while riding
up on the tram for first tracks...)

We're talking common sense ways to get the most out of the holiday!

Get to the resorts early! Especially if you plan on renting
gear--BTW, renting gear at the resort on a holiday is not a great
idea. Get your gear before leaving for Tahoe, or rent from one of
the shops around the lake. Simply put, resort rentals can be jammed
on a holiday.

Pack a lunch! You'll save money and time. Stash lunch in a locker
or leave it in your car. When you see the line for $9.00 chili,
you'll probably drop to your knees and give thanks to SOTC. I'm
in a hotel--how do I pack lunch? Go to Safeway, head for the Deli
section--need I say more? You're out $5.00 a head and you save an
hour waiting in line...

Purchase your lift ticket before leaving for Tahoe! You'll save
tons on tickets to Heavenly, Kirkwood, Homewood, Bear Valley and
more. Or, purchase ticket paks. For Northstar and Sierra, purchase
3-Paks and Quad packs. Where do I find all these (cheap) gems?
Scan down dear sliders!

*We Might Be Cheap, But We're Generous!
We're giving away (free) 8 Northstar/ Sierra lift tickets this week
to our loyal readers Why? Because we can! Make sure to check and
see if your address is listed below.

*Slidingonthecheapgear.com!

closeout prices on everything you need!
