The early season tickets are running at a deep discount. How about

Northstar is planning to open November 22nd, Squaw Valley-17th,
Heavenly-17th and Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, Sierra-at-Tahoe with
colder temperatures and perhaps a little nudge from Mother Nature.
Heed our warning dear sliders: tickets prices can change at anytime.
Let's repeat, in case you're not reading closely! Call your favorite
resort and check tickets prices, times and terrain before packing
the family truckster for a three hour commute. We're beginning to
list (cheap) ski and stay packages and our own insider hotel/motel

*Mike Pechner's Snowcast!
First significant Lake Level Snow Inbound: next Monday or Tuesday.
Mike says it could drop a foot or more at Lake Level, two feet above
8,000 feet. What does that mean? Book that Gobbler ski package,
sliders. Most major resorts will be open over Thanksgiving, some
with more terrain than others. More snow inbound late in the
weekend.
*Boreal Opens!
Boreal is offering trails via Gunnar's chair lift, from 9am to 4pm
daily (conditions permitting). Lift ticket rates are reduced: $22
for adults and teens, and $10 for kids. Resort services will include
all base facilities including food and beverage, ski rentals and
retail. Ski school lessons will be offered based on availability
(please call ahead). Boreal will offer terrain park features
including 2 c-boxes, a down rail, a 32' flat down box, a 20' flat
box and a beginner jib area with 2 ride on flat boxes and 1 ride

Scheduled Opening Date: 11/17/06
Squaw Valley USA's Cable Car & High Camp will open for the winter
this Friday. Squaw Valley USA, located in Olympic Valley and site
of the 1960 Winter Olympics, offers cable car rides, ice skating
and dining overlooking scenic Lake Tahoe.
On Sunday 11/18, a memorial will be held at Squaw Valley USA to
celebrate the life and achievements of Alex Cushing. Cushing will
be recognized for his contributions to the sport of skiing throughout
his life. In 1959, leading up to the Squaw Valley Olympics, Cushing
was on the cover of Time Magazine and heralded as the pioneer of
skiing in the U.S., and in 1999 he was inducted into the Ski Industry
