TOP 5 POWDER STASHES
What if you can't make it up to the mountains for first tracks on a powder day? See below for a few spots where freshies are just waiting to be found.
1. Breckenridge- You can't go wrong just taking laps off the 6 chair on Peak 8. Get speed and traverse all the way right before you cut in. Look for a run called "Way Out" to find epic snow and awesome views! 2. Vail- Yonder Trees are located in Sun Up Bowl and near Chair 17. The snow here is good for days after a storm and the well-spaced, gladed trees are a lot of fun! 3. Beaver Creek- Local powder hounds that ski the Beav' head straight for Stone Creek Chutes, located off Red Buffalo Trail, near the summit. With more than a dozen chutes to choose from, there are plenty of freshies for all. Watch Video>> 4. Keystone- Let Keystone's guided snowcat tours take you to the best powder stashes in Keystone, including the newly opened Independence Bowl. Almost 300 acres of expert-only snowcat ski/ride terrain. 5. Heavenly- The North Bowl trees off of the North Bowl chairlift on the Nevada side has lots of protection and steep terrain or the Dipper Woods above Mott Canyon is home to a ton of fresh snow because the wind deposits snow to this area! | | | |
